Hi there!
How are you doing? I trust you are doing fine and enjoying God's grace in your life!
FAMILY:
We are all doing fine and healthy, Praise the Lord for that. As you may know we home school Joshua and Emily with an American Curriculum. It's not easy to maintain the discipline of being a parent and teacher at the same time, and plus having to teach in another language (English) with a system that we have never seen or heard before in Brazil. We have being teaching Joshua for 3 years now, and Emily started more serious this year.
Joshua and Emily love to be around people, and a school would be the ideal for them and for us. We live in the countryside 630 kilometers from the Capital, which makes kind of hard to find a solution for their school education.
We have lived in Mongolia for eight years, and in those years, we left as a family only twice to go to Brazil, one time for five months and another for two months. For these eight years we have been immersed, and have given ourselves to the Mongolian people, learning the language, and trying to help God’s Kingdom grow in Mongolia. But, the time has come where we have to make an important decision, and God is giving us PEACE about changing the direction of how we work in Mongolia. We have decided to return to Brazil for good at the end of this year 2009 and put Joshua and Emily in a school for the year of 2010.
Jardel will still be sharing about Mongolian Missions at home in Brazil and in the USA – and wherever God opens the door. The plan is for Jardel to be able to come back to Mongolia two or three times a year, for a period of three weeks to one month each time.
THIS IS A VERY HARD DECISION, but we have peace about it. Concerning the projects and the work here, we have been giving responsibility to the Mongolians and passing leadership over to them so they can continue the work. The hardest thing to leave is the relationships with people who along the years became our brothers, parents, children, and friends. We have always tried to encourage them to depend on God in all situations and to know that we will maintain contact and will be coming back here to be a support to them.
Some have received this news with tears in their eyes which makes even more difficult for us. But, soon they understand the situation and that this is God’s direction for us.
We believe God will use our time in Brazil for a rest, also to learn more and be prepared for a bigger challenge in the future. Mongolia will always be in our hearts and we will always be connected with our friends and brothers here. We believe God will call us to another nation, or to other nations, in the future. We will always be missionaries wherever HE calls us to go.
Please pray for us and for all the transition processes we are going through right now. We also thank God for your love, kindness, trust, prayers and support over the years. What we helped to build here we never had the intention to build it for ourselves. Our principles of Missions are to help training local leaders and help them take leadership positions.TESTIMONY:
Our DTS teams came back from the outreach full of interesting stories. It is wonderful to see the transformation that God has made in their lives and how much God used them on the outreach.
The team that went to Xovd state, 1000 kilometers from Bayankhongor, and worked with the churches. They taught the word of God, did street evangelism, prayed for the sick, drove out demons etc. God did many things among them. The team met a 66 years old lady. She is a member of a local church there, a believer of four years. This lady has an interesting story: She says that God has called her to preach the Good News and if she does not share the gospel over the course of more than three days, small red tears begin to fall from her eyes. Our team saw that happen and also they asked the church where she goes and the church confirmed the story. As soon as she starts to share about Jesus with someone the tears stop falling. Can you imagine if this happens with all us Christians? If so, maybe all the earth would have already heard about Jesus.
There was a group of young people from a local school that went to a three days camp. On the way one of them felt like being chased by a wolf, but nobody could see anything. That student was getting very scared and with a terrible fear. As they got to the camping place, some of the other students started to have the same feeling. A fear started to take over the students and some of them started to fall on the floor twisting their arms, hands and legs. The teachers and the other students decided to go back to the little town and take them to a hospital. As they were approaching the city somehow they called the staff from our team that was there, and they went and prayed for the students.
The staff told us that it was shocking to see those people rolling on the floor. As the staff started to pray for them one by one the students got delivered and came back to normal. That made a big impact in everybody that was present, not only the ones that were delivered but the teachers and the other students, too. The staff shared the gospel with them and they all received Jesus in their hearts that night. They said they were going to go to church. Praise be to our God in Heaven because He is the same today, yesterday and forever. Amen.
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL:
Next week will be the school’s graduation. They had five months of training. As they leave, they will have the chance to put in practice everything they learned. We believe God will use them to reach out many lives for His Kingdom. We are really thankful for all of you who prayed and supported the students during the school. The most important is to see the transformation that God has done in their lives. On how much they became free to relate to God and with others. Glory to God in the highest! And thanks to all of you.
A big hug to all. We will keep in touch. We love you very much. Thanks again for everything!Jardel, Inez, Joshua and Emily

Inez and the kids are back after five weeks in Brazil. They had a good time besides the loss of Inez's Mother. It was a safe return after more than 40 hours trip counting the transit time spent in airports. It is great to have them back. I have already put on some weight since they returned!
We are still in Ulaanbaatar. We were trying to fix our car to be able to sell it. The fixing took longer than we expected and also we will have JCS annual retreat in the beginning of August, so we decided to stay until the end of the retreat to go back home to Bayankhongor.
This weekend Jardel will go to Bayankhongor for a four day meeting with the church leaders in the whole Bayankhongor state. (Inez and the kids will stay in UB) The first two days, they will be talking about the church situation and the future plans, and the remainder will be a fellowship time. Jardel will stay the first 2 or 3 days and come back to UB for JCS retreat. It is going to be a lot of travel for a short period of time but will be very important for the ministry.
We finished our second Discipleship Training School (DTS). We had a graduation party followed by a Mongolian barbecue by the river. We graduated 18 of the 21 students that started the program. It is good to be part of the transformation of people's lives. Our program there has many things to be improved, but we are still learning and making mistakes. We pray God will help us to make the right changes.
TESTIMONY
OIONBOLD is a young Mongolian man who lived under Satan’s influence but was protected by God through his grandmother's intercessions. Oionbold grew up in a good family. His parents were great to him as were his grandparents. He was loved by them and he had no complains about them.
As a child he started to have a desire to steal money from his parents, and he did it many times. Many times his parents noticed that money was missing, but Oionbold never confessed stealing to them. That desire grew bigger inside of him and soon he was stealing money and things from the community. When he was 14 years old, he was captured and went to prison.
He stayed in prison for about 14 years in a total. Oionbold was not afraid of prison, he got used to it; there he was the boss. He used to beat people up as soon as they would get in prison, just to make sure they would be under his leadership. He was not afraid to die; in fact he tried to kill himself 7 times. His grandmother was a Christian and she prayed for him for all these years, but she died without seeing him recovered and with God.
Last year, he got out of prison and was planning to do the same as always, trying to take advantage of people, etc. But he met a Christian girl who started to minister to him and she brought him to the church. He liked her actually, and that was the reason he went to church. He did not like the church much, but he noticed there was something different about those people, different from the people he was used to. They were nice and kind.
Well, he wound up coming to DTS. He arrived two weeks after DTS had already started. We usually we do not accept people who are late, but we prayed and we felt God would like to do something in his life. We did know his background, but God led us to accept him.
Oimbold was one of our graduating students this year and one of the lives most changed by the Lord. He gave his testimony at the graduation ceremony in tears because of what God has been doing in him.
Oimbold always liked boxing and practiced boxing for some years in prison. Now he has a vision to start a Christian boxing club to reach out the youth that are maybe thinking to go to the life he was before. He wants to help them to choose a better way for life. It is great to see people being transformed and willing to reach out others. Please keep Oimbold and his project in your prayers.
Our next DTS will start on September 1, 2008.
In Christ,
Jardel, Inez, Joshua and Emily

YWAM SCHOOL
It is great to remember how God thinks about us. In the last two weeks God has been moving in a special way in the lives’ of our DTS Students. It is a pleasure to be here and see God working in people's lives.
Jargal one of our students was abandoned as a child, she never met her parents. She has been living her whole life in orphanages. She came to our school to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) here in Bayankhongor. Since the beginning of the School, she has caused many troubles for the other students. We even thought to send her back to her home. Two weeks ago I felt God was going to do something different that would change some of our students radically.
After that we had Joy Preston from USA ministering about Intercession, Spiritual Warfare and Prophecies. Many of our students were impacted with the teaching. There was a breakthrough in this student’s heart. The next week we had Melinda Mickelson teaching on Father Heart of God. This is a teaching to bring healing and forgiveness to those who were hurt or abandoned by their parents.
This week was a key week for Jargal. God was preparing her all the way to start a process of freedom in her life. For the first time she forgave her parents for abandoning her, and she could even pray for their salvation. The next day, we could see Jargal's face – she was shining in freedom and happiness. All the other students encouraged her saying they could not even recognize her because of her bright face. Praise God. As with Jargal, we have many testimonies of what God is doing here.
FAMILY
As a family, we are doing very well. Joshua is speaking amazing Mongolian. He always spoke the language well, but in the last 2 months his Mongolian has taken off. He speaks as good as a Mongolian kid. He makes friends very easy; when he is home the Mongolian kids come to our gate and call his name.
Emily is our loud princess. She has a strong personality and she is also very smart.
Inez is well, home schooling the kids with American material that uses DVDs. Please continue pray for them.
Inez decided to make some changes in our kitchen and living room. Basically, we took down the wall between the two rooms to have more space. It was a lot of work, but surely it is much better now. Our house this last winter was very cold. This summer we need to make some radical changes to make it warmer, like fixing the heaters, installing extra heaters, and making a fire place in the living room with a Mongolian stove, and also putting a new roof on the house. We also need to fix our bathroom. Since we moved we are still using a bucket the flush the toilet.
OUR CAR
Our car, after staying 4 months in the garage this winter, started to lose power. We had some good friends looking at it. They said the transmission in really bad. We might need to change the transmission and put a new one. For that we need to send the car on a truck to Ulaanbaatar 30km, because I do not think it can make it driving. A new transmission will cost us quite a bit of money.
So, we are praying about what to do with our car and the repairing in our house. We believe God will provide on His own good timing. Please pray for that as well as the heating system that we need to fix this summer. Otherwise, we can’t use half of the house next winter.
Thank you all for you friendship and support. We really pray that our God will keep you safe and bless you.
In Christ,
Jardel, Inez, Joshua and Emily

Dear all,
We are really glad to be back in Mongolia after a long trip that was full of surprises. We had a really restful time in Brazil and in America. We enjoyed spending time with our families and friends, and meeting new ones.
After leaving Brazil on our way back to the USA, our plane had some mechanical problems and we almost had to do an emergency landing back in Sao Paulo airport. Looking down we could see many fire trucks and ambulances – it was scary! On the next day we got into another plane, but after waiting for an hour and a half, the pilot discovered some problems with that plane too. So we had to stay two more days in Brazil. Praise God he protected us from any accidents.
We left Brazil in the middle of summer and got back in Mongolia at the end of winter. It was a shocking experience, as we never had done that before. Brazil was +28 C, but when we arrived in Mongolia, the temperature was -25 C. We are OK, it is getting warmer now.
We arrived in Bayankhongor, the town where we live, and ten days later we were starting our second DTS ( Discipleship Training School). God blessed us with the first school. We heard some good reports about our former students. Some of them are leading churches, others are serving in ministries. Praise God for their lives and may He keep them safe.
Our new DTS has 19 students coming from different parts of Mongolia. This time we had an increase of 30% more students than our first school.
We ask your prayers for the students. We wish that during the five months of the program they will receive a special touch from God and have a life-changing experience. This summer for the outreach, we are planning to visit Inner Mongolia, North of China.
Please pray for our base financial situation. We are still looking for more support for our staffs, workers and ministries. Any support would make a big difference for all of us.
Jardel is glad to be able to teach Football (soccer) again in the Sports Center. In the first week, many kids came and his schedules are working well this time. He teaches three days a week, mornings and afternoons. Next month they will organize an Adult's Indoor soccer tournament.
Joshua is a bit behind in school. It has been a challenge for Inez to be home schooling Joshua and Emily. She uses an American educational program, with DVD's which helps. English is not her first language, so that makes harder. Please pray for Inez and the Kids. Thanks.
May God bless you richly. Thank you for all your prayers and support.
With love,

In June, 2007, a Discipleship Training School (DTS) was established as part of the small Youth With A Mission base there. Timber Leech traveled to Mongolia in February of 2007 to help Jardel work on the church building and renovate the newly purchased building for the Y.W.A.M. base.
Besides using their building for the DTS program, World Vision and JCS International also rent portions of the facility, helping the Church in Bayankhongor work together. There is also an office for Ongoing Church Planting Ministry. To date, twenty-four churches have been planted in the Bayankhongor Aimag (State).

YWAM- DTS
We just started our DTS (Discipleship Training School) with 13 students, 3 couples and 7 singles.
The majority of the students are men, which is always nice. We believe God wants to restore men's authority and place in Mongolia. We believe God will work powerfully on our students during this DTS. Please pray for our students, staffs and teachers.
TESTIMONY
One of the couples that came this time is from Ulaanbaatar. They used to be very rich and famous. The couple made a movie about Buddhism in the 1980's which had a lot of success, but just after the movie their lives started to change. They started to lose money in their business. The husband, Chimed, started going into alcoholism and they started to sell their belongings.
Their lives got even worse when they lost their older son. They went to find a solution for their lives in the Buddhism and Shamanism. They also got divorced.
We had a good number of participants in the tournament, a total of 7 teams, with children ages 10 to 16 between boys and girls. They had lots of fun and we could help setting up the goals and organizing the tournament.
CHALLENGES
We are dreaming about it and making plans. We will keep praying and write it all down and see what God will do.
Thanks for being part of this ministry with us
In Christ,
Jardel, Inez, Joshua and Emily
We also have being challenged in the last months to start small business which could help the School's financial support and also to generate jobs. We wish our students apart from learning the word of God and be transformed by it, would also be able to learn some work/ job skills, like carpentry, growing vegetables, small business, etc. -- something that can help them to get a job or to begin their own business.Last Saturday our family and our Staffs went to Erdentsogt, a small village about 30 km from Bayankhongor to run a tournament. Through Ortaa, the church leader, who graduated from our DTS last year, our base gave to the local school a set of goal posts. Ortaa is getting a lot of respect from the community for been organizing activities and bringing development in the village.
FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT IN ERDENTSOGT
As YWAM Bayankhongor, we are in a growing phase. We feel challenged to go further in the vision God has given us. God has put in our hearts to go to places where the gospel is not yet very known or not known at all. Those places are not easy to get to. There are no cars or vans from Bayankhongor going normally there. We have been doing our outreaches renting Russian vans, but it is not easy to find a driver willing to go -- besides they charge for their staying there and coming back. We would like to have more freedom to go to the outreaches. We are praying for a second hand Russian van in good condition. Please pray with us for that!
VISION
Sometime later Chimed's wife Saikhnaa, heard the gospel. She received Jesus in her life and the light started to shine in this family. Saikhnaa started to pray for her husband and for his salvation. One day Chimed went to an evangelism conference and gave his life to Jesus. He and Saikhnaa came back together. The Lord restored their relationship and they started to follow Jesus. But life has not been easy for this couple. They are still facing a lot of challenges, especially financially, which we believe is God's time to work in their lives. They are very gifted people. Chimed is an artist and Saikhnaa used to be an actress. Please pray for this couple and for their time with us.

"And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out?” Rom 10:15
Dear Friends,
It has being a while since we last wrote. …for sure it was not a lack of what to write, we just were so busy that we couldn’t get a good time to seat, and try to type all that the Lord has being doing these last days among us!
FAMILY
Joshua and Emily are doing great and in good health. Joshua has started to go to acrobatic classes at the Theater, he really enjoys it. Emily is supposed to go to the Mongolian traditional dancing classes; she likes it; but she is still uncomfortable staying there by herself. This week we also had a Brazilian Pastor visiting us and a missionary friend who lives in Darhan-Mongolia. We had a good time with them.
COUPLES MINISTRY
Inez and Jardel have started a 7 weeks Marriage course for couples from Bayankhongor churches. We are on our fourth week, and we have five couples doing the course, and they are really enjoying it. The teaching is very basic but very important.
At the end of each course we want to give the opportunity for each couple that is now Christian to have a Christian wedding to renew their vows before God, inviting Him officially to be part of their marriage relationship. Some of them haven’t had any kind of celebration; they just started to live together. We believe that the couple is the basis of the family, and the family the basis of the church. A church with well structured families can better influence the society around her.
YWAM DTS
During the lecture phase of the DTS, we taught the 7 lessons of marriage course to our three couples that are doing the DTS. So Last Friday we had a beautiful wedding celebration at the YWAM base. Buya and Chinguee and Tchimed and Caixnaa, (who have being married for 30 years; they were separated before coming to do DTS). Their dream as a couple was to have a wedding celebration.
OUTREACH
The students are going to their outreach this Tuesday. One team is going to Omon Goby (Desert area) and the other one to Ovkhongai (most Buddhist state). They will stay for 4 to 5 weeks, preaching the gospel, ministering churches, and helping in whatever is needed.
We had a Commissioning service yesterday at the Word of Salvation church, praying together for missionaries that are in the mission field and also praying commissioning the two DTS teams. For the last month the students have being fasting and praying so much for a miracle from God to pay their fees. So at the end of the service, as a surprise for them we told them that God has provided for their need. They were really happy, crying and thanking God for His faithfulness. We want to give thanks to those of you who prayed and also contributed to the student’s fees. Praise God!!!
SUNDAY, NOV. 23rd
At church today there was a Baptism of about 25 people, some of the DTS students got baptized too. During this time of the year the temperature reaches between -5 to -15 C, so we do Baptism inside.
All the blessings to you all and thanks for all your prayers and support!
With Love
Jardel, Inez, Joshua and Emily
